Hi gang! Ironically, the "skip" week (last week) -- When the comics publishers didn't release any new product -- actually was my best week of the past year! It was a great close to 2009, and a promising beginning to 2010. I want to thank all of you who have patronized Comics Unlimited of Evansville, Indiana since the shop first opened on 1996! I truly appreciate your continued business! One thing that surely helped boost sales for last week, and indeed for the past month and more is the BIG BIG SALE that continues at CU! Hi gang! As some of you already know, I have been involved with the TRUE BELIEVER documentary being made about STAN LEE. For those that don't know, the scoop is this: Over a year ago I took the old 1960's Marvel Bullpen fan club audio recording and added images and such to the audio and placed the video I made on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y26EmSDHXh4 I was contacted by a representative form STAN LEE's company POW ENTERTAINMENT (http://www.powentertainment.com/) who told me that Stan saw my video and enjoyed it, and he inquired about the photographs I used in making the video. I asked if Stan would like to have the photos I had sent to him, and he did. I sent him the photos I had saved and a week or so later STAN LEE sent me a way-cool personalized autographed photo of him and Spider-Man! STAN LEE, legendary co-creator of such iconic comic book and pop-culture icons, SPIDER-MAN, THE INCREDIBLE HULK, and THE FANTASTIC FOUR, has watched one of my videos from "The HAPPY SHOW!" ENTERTAINMENT, Stan's company, who told me Stan really enjoyed the video and wanted to know where I got the pictures used in the video. The video features many vintage photos of the original production staff (known affectionately as "The Marvel Bullpen") from the 1960s.
